First
Settler’s Lodge offers four-season lodging, dining, and outdoor
packages for the seasoned sports person, vacationer, business, or
organizational interest.
The warm and friendly atmosphere of the Lodge is especially
conducive to group interaction and to the sharing of life experiences.
Maine professional guide and outfitting services are available on-site
for outdoor activities ranging from traditional fly fishing, upland game
and whitetail deer hunting to canoeing, kayaking, x-country skiing and
snowmobiling. Arrangements can be made for airport shuttles and ground
transportation.
VACATIONING,
PADDLING, FISHING & HUNTING packages may be guided or non-guided.
Lodging, dining, and outdoor activities can be pre-packaged or customized to fit skill levels,
physical abilities, and size of party. Lodge services include individual
or shared guest room accommodations, American plan dining, use of common
areas including the great room, exercise room, Lodge grounds, and
trails. Outdoor services
includes outfitting for both guided or non-guided activities.
Pre-packaged lodge and outdoor offerings are based on either
three (3) or five (5) days of outdoor activity and four (4) and seven
(6) nights lodging respectively. Custom packages are welcome and priced
by quote.
A guided package
includes experienced and professional assistance with planning,
preparation, and participation in any outdoor activity.
Our guides provide hands-on training and detailed suggestions
about the proper and safe use of both personal gear and outfitted
equipment. Meals may be prepared in the field or on the shore. The
enjoyment and fond memories of any outdoor activity cannot be better
guaranteed than by the sharing of a guides knowledge of our areas woods
and waters.
Outfitting services
provided for both guided and non-guided
paddling, fishing, and hunting lodge packages include the following:
Paddling: Stream-flow and
local water information, shuttle services, and use of canoe or kayak,
paddles and PFD’s. Fishing: Hatch
and tackle information, day use of motorized or non-motorized canoe or
boat, and safety equipment. Hunting:
Local maps, habitat and population information, pre-scouted
territory, complementary use of dog kennels, and tree stands.
While we outfit and
assist for non-guided outdoor activities, we strongly recommend our
guests employ Maine Professional Guide Services.
GROUP RETREATS
Group
packages may encompass American Plan or special menu meals,
exclusive use of Lodge and amenities, and North Woods Tours outfitting
and guide services. In-season
outdoor activities range from traditional sport fishing, skeet shooting,
and hunting to moose watching, photography, bird watching, canoeing,
kayaking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, and ice
fishing. Optimum group size is from ten to sixteen people. Larger groups
can be accommodated.
MEETINGS
& SEMINARS
First Settler's
Lodge also hosts business meetings and luncheons. Meetings may be formal, informal or
seminar style conference room set-ups, and working or non-working
luncheons. Audio visual equipment, and Internet access is available.
Team building through outdoor recreation might include a map and compass
hike, a canoe or kayak excursion, a competitive skeet shoot, or a timed
snowshoe, or cross country ski tag-team trip.
RECEPTIONS
First
Settler's Lodge will also cater and host your special award dinner,
shower, wedding reception or dinner meeting. Dinner setups may be
banquet or buffet style, and include a pre-dinner social time.
First Settler’s Lodge has a conservative alcohol policy and
specific arrangements need to be made for the consumption of beverages
other than non-alcoholic drinks.
